So today’s sketch is from the lovely Keren Howell….

Okay so today’s card was an easy one for me as we have a new baby in our family! This card is for the very lucky and very proud Grand-parents. I decided to go for Flirty Flamingo A4 Cardstock (cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches), this is fast becoming my favourite Pink in the colour families. I stamped the Little Lamb (sooooo cute!!!) image from the Barnyard Babies Stamp Set on to some A4 Shimmery White Cardstock in Basic Black Archival Ink. I love this cardstock, it is becoming a go to basic for me.

Taking my Flirty Flamingo Classic Ink and Smoky Slate Classic Ink I water coloured my image and out aside to dry. Then, with a piece of A4 Vellum (cut to 2 1/2 inches x 5 7/8 inches) I stamped the little lamb image in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. I adhered this to my card base with some Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I punched out my little lamb with my 2 inch Circle Punch and popped it on my card front with some Stampin Dimensionals. Taking some more Shimmery White cardstock I stamped my sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink  and punched it out using the new label punch. I also punched out a label from some more Flirty Flamingo cardstock and adhered these together with some multipurpose liquid glue and popped this up on my card base. To finishmy card off I added some Basic Pearls.

I am very happy with how this card turned out and it is so simple and quick to recreate! Don’t forget to hop along and see how everyone else got along with this month’s sketch!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #9 Stampin’ Up’s Flower Shop Birthday Card

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So this is sketch number 9 of our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Karen McDondald!

So for today’s sketch….

12916815_10154007715904463_2890398223363953566_o

I decided to kill two birds with one stone for this weeks sketch as I needed to make a birthday card for mom, who’s birthday it is today!! Happy Birthday Mom!!!

For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

20160422_180918_marked

I then took a piece of the Shimmery White Cardstock, which I am obsessed with for water colouring, cut to 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I stamped in Versamark Ink some of the images from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. Using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink I water coloured over my stamped images to create a background piece. I then adhered this to a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper cut to 4 inches x 5 6/8 inches.

Taking some A4 Vellum Cardstock I stamped some different flower images from the stamp set in Versamrk Ink and heat embossed. I punched these out with the Pansy Flower Punch, which is available in a bundle saving 15%.

20160422_180929_marked

Taking some more vellum cardstock I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Versamark and heat embossed again. I cut this in to a banner edged piece ready to attach to my card front.

20160422_180941_marked

Using some of the gorgeous 1″ Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace trim I wrapped a piece vertically around my card front and then tied a Faux bow using a technique I found on Pinterest and my Candy Dots Brad Bases with some Basic Rhinestone Jewels. I then adhered my card front to my card base using Stampin Dimensionals. My last touch was attaching my vellum sentiment piece with three 1/8″ Mini Brads. With some Mini Glue Dots I adhered my punched out Pansy flowers.

I made a second card of this design. The water colouring came up a little more pigmented and I used the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon for my bow.

Stampin’ Up Happy Scenes Hearth and Home Halloween Card

Following on from Saturday’s card I am sticking with the Halloween theme for a few projects this week including my first experience with one of Stampin’ Up’s kits. Anyway back to todays card, it raised an issue for me and it maybe something you struggle with……”perfectionism”.

P1010718_marked

For todays card I used some Whisper White A4 Thick Cardstock for my card base cut 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches for a top folding card. I then used some Pumpkin Pie A4 Cardstock cut to 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I took this piece of cardstock and using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder ran it through my BigShot.  While my BigShot is out I took some Whisper White A4 Cardstock  and the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies and die cut my window frame.

P1010720_marked

Using the Happy Scenes Stamp Set , the pumpkin image in particular, I stamped this in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on some Whisper White cardstock and then using some Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink and Old Olive Classic Ink to sponge an autumn sky and some grass around the tree. Using my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker I coloured in the pumpkins.  I adhered my window frame to my coloured piece with some Tonbow Mono Mutli Glue. I adhered my embossed piece of cardstock with some Fast Fuse to my card base and then popped my window frame up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

P1010719_marked

To finish today’s card I took a small piece of A4 Vellum and stamped my sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with some White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Heat Tool. I adhered this to my card and finished off with a few Candy Dots.  I wasn’t completely happy  with the finish of this card, I wanted to attempt some card surgery but stopped myself. I often struggle with my perfectionism when it comes to finishing projects but I am learning to appreciate that what I am not keen on others may really appreciate.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Pootler’s Blog Hop Flurry of Wishes Tri-fold Card

bog hop-001

Well its time for another Pootler’s Blog Hop. This is the third blog hop and my fellow Pootler’s and I have put together a series of projects showcasing some of the amazing new products from the Autumn and Winter Catalogue that was released on the 1st of September.

P1010695

For my card today I am using the gorgeous Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set. I then used a piece of Whisper White Thick A4 Cardstock cut to 5 7/8 inches x 8 2/8 inches scored at 3 7/8 inches and 7 6/8 inches to make a tri-fold card. On the front (left hand area) I punched a hole using my 2 1/2 inch circle punch. On the right sided fold I lined up the punched hole and stamped the medium snowflake from the Flurry of Wishes set and stamped this through my punched area with Night of Navy Classic ink. Then taking my ink pad and a Stampin Up blender pen I coloured some areas of my snowflake.

Then taking some Vellum cardstock I stamped the image again with Versamark ink and heat embossed with my heat tool and Stampin Silver Embossing Powder. I then cut this out and adhered this to my card lining it up on top of my original stamped image. I then stamped the two smaller snowflake images on to some vellum cardstock and again embossed in silver embossing powder. I stamped the two images again on to some Whisper White cardstock in Marina Mist Classic Ink. I punched both pairs of the stamped images with the matching Snow Flurry Punch. Taking the larger image stamped in Marina Mist and the smaller embossed snowflake I popped these on to the card with some Stampin Dimensionals. I then added some Basic Rhinestones to sparkle up my snowflakes.

P1010696

Going back to the front panel of my card I stamped one of the sentiment stamps in Versamark ink again and embossed in the silver embossing powder and again added some more Basic Rhinestones.

P1010697

For the inside (middle) of my card I stamped another sentiment in Marina Mist Classic Ink and adhered the two remaining stamped and embossed snowflakes.
