Stampin’ Up UK Independent Demonstrator “What I’ve been up to!”

I just wanted to check in with you today and let you know what I have been up to!

Its been a busy couple of weeks on the Stampin’ Up calendar, we had our On Stage event which I attended, we had the retiring list come out which you can still take advantage of up until 31st May 2016. At On Stage we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at this years new 2016/17 catalogue which I have to say is amazing and I am so excited!!! We as demonstrators are allowed to place pre-orders for some of the scrummy new delights so we can share them with you in the run up to the catalogue release, which I will be doing so shortly.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Onstage was an amazing day. I got to meet up with my fellow Pootler’s and my Upline Sam. We got to try out some of the new products, we were given lots of goodies (including a copy of the new catalogue) and we learnt so much from representatives from Stampin’ Up as well as fellow demonstrators whom shared some amazing makes and ideas. It didn’t stop there we also had a team training day on the Sunday organised by Sam for her team which again was brilliant, I loved every second of my Stampin’ Up weekend! Oh and bonus I came away with some beautiful swaps, some I have eaten ūüôā (not the packaging hahaha….)

I made some cute little boxes for my swaps. As I have said before, I have to step out of my comfort zone when making 3D projects so I hope my fellow demonstrators enjoyed their swap and the little chocolate surprise inside ūüôā

For my boxes I used the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper, co-ordinating A4 Cardstock in Crumbcake, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and Basic Black. I also used Co-ordinating Classic Inks in Crumbcake and Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo and Rose Red, Mint Macaron and Garden Green and finally Crushed curry and Tangerine Tango. I used the Flower Patch Stamp Set and co-ordinating Flower Flair Framelits. For the sentiment I used the Many More sentiments Stamp Set and the Word Window punch.

We were set a few challenges that weekend, Sara Douglas CEO of Stampin’ Up set us a goal of booking one extra event every month for 6 months #sixmonthstampingoals. So with this in mind I took part in my first carft fair at the weekend and I have to say I really enjoyed it, I made some great contacts with other stall holders and ultimately got myself out there!!

I learnt a few things too, what people like to buy and I was mainly asked for male themed cards!! So this week that is my challenge to myself, make some male cards. Again, stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself…I will be sharing these here with you this week! Also I have a project week planned where I will be sharing some of the amazing project kits that you can get in our amazing catalogues, including a sneaky peek of a kit featured in the new catalogue!!! This will kick off a few sneak peek projects using some of the gorgeous new products.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #9 Stampin’ Up’s Flower Shop Birthday Card

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We‚Äôre so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin‚Äô Up!¬ģ Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So this is sketch number 9 of our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Karen McDondald!

So for today’s sketch….

12916815_10154007715904463_2890398223363953566_o

I decided to kill two birds with one stone for this weeks sketch as I needed to make a birthday card for mom, who’s birthday it is today!! Happy Birthday Mom!!!

For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

20160422_180918_marked

I then took a piece of the Shimmery White Cardstock, which I am obsessed with for water colouring, cut to 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I stamped in Versamark Ink some of the images from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. Using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink I water coloured over my stamped images to create a background piece. I then adhered this to a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper cut to 4 inches x 5 6/8 inches.

20160422_181001_marked

Taking some A4 Vellum Cardstock I stamped some different flower images from the stamp set in Versamrk Ink and heat embossed. I punched these out with the Pansy Flower Punch, which is available in a bundle saving 15%.

20160422_180929_marked

Taking some more vellum cardstock I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Versamark and heat embossed again. I cut this in to a banner edged piece ready to attach to my card front.

20160422_180941_marked

Using some of the gorgeous 1″ Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace trim I wrapped a piece vertically around my card front and then tied a Faux bow using a technique I found on Pinterest and my Candy Dots Brad Bases with some Basic Rhinestone Jewels.¬†I then adhered my card front to my card base using Stampin Dimensionals. My last touch was attaching my vellum sentiment piece with three 1/8″ Mini Brads. With some Mini Glue Dots I adhered my punched out Pansy flowers.

I made a second card of this design. The water colouring came up a little more pigmented and I used the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon for my bow.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #7 Botanicals For You Mother’s Day Shaker Card

So this is week 7 in our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Hannah from StampingwithHannah.com!

So for today’s sketch….

Today’s¬†sketch caused a stir I can tell you, the ladies in the group were all saying “What???” but I knew straight away this sketch only meant one thing, Shaker¬†card!!!! I also knew what stamp set I was going to use, the Botanicals For You Stamp Set¬†from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue ,¬†you still have one month left to take advantage of the Sale-a-Bration promotion.¬†I have gone in to more detail about the Sale-a-Bration promotion at the end of this post if you need to know more about how¬†to bag these bargains.

For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

20160226_204005_marked

I took a piece of Window Sheet cut to 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches and stamped the sentiment from the Botanicals For You Stamp Set in White Stazon Ink.

20160226_204016_marked

While I waited for that to dry I took a piece of the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper cut to 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches and sponged on some Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink  on to the larger rose images on the paper.

20160226_204057_marked

I adhered my DSP to my card base. Taking another piece of Watermelon Wonder cardstock cut again at 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches I die cut out a frame with my Bigshot and the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits using the partial die cutting technique to get the right size of frame. I then adhered my window sheet piece using some Fast Fuse Adhesive. I popped on some Stampin Dimensionals all around my frame with no spaces so my sequins would not fall out.

20160226_204016_marked

I then placed some Sequins on my card front and popped on my frame. Using some more white stazon ink I used the small floral images from the stamp set in the corners of my frame and finally added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen to finish. I then used the Project Life Corner Punch to round off my corners.

20160226_204047_marked

I stamped another sentiment inside my card¬†with white Stazon ink and another floral image and that¬†finishes my card for this week’s sketch challenge.

Colour Throwdown Challenge Stampin’ Up’s Bloomin’ Love Valentine’s Card

Happy Valentine’s Day!! I couldn’t not share a Valentine’s Card on Valentine’s Day! I don’t feel like I have made that many this year, compared to last year. You know those memories that you get notified of on Facebook, well I have had one every day this week and they have all been cards that were published on my blog last year, I was obviously feeling the love!!

For today’s card I have tried a bit of a different challenge. I have noticed a few people taking part in this challenge on Instagram and I am always looking for ways to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to colour combinations so I thought I would give it a whirl…..

This weeks Colour Throwdown #379

swatch379

So I chose Blushing Bride A4 Cardstock for my base, cut at 4 1/8 inch and scored at 5 7/8inches. I then cut a mat from Rich Razzleberry A4 Cardstock measuring 3 7/8 x 5 5/8 inches which I adhered a mat of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum over measuring 3 6/8 x 5 4/8 inches.

20160213_215807_marked

Using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die and my BigShot I die cut the heart from Gold Foil Sheets. The matching Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set and Die set are available as a Bundle saving 15% and it is gorgeous, I will not be parting ways with mine for a long time to come!

20160213_215949 - Copy_marked

I stamped the accent flowers in Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink on to some more Blushing Bride cardstock and die cut them and adhered them on to my gold heart. I then adhered some gold sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment. I popped my heart up on some Stampin Dimensionals and popped my card front up on to my card base.

20160213_220105_001_01_marked

Finally breaking out the stamps in the Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set I stamped the Banner stamp and my sentiment inside my banner in Melon Mambo Classic Ink¬†on some more Blushing Bride cardstock.¬†I also stamped three hearts and fussy cut these out with my Paper Snips. I popped my banner and hearts up on dimensionals and covered my hearts in Dazzling Details and my flowers on my heart in Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen for that extra bit of glitter!

I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s weekend whatever you are up to and don’t forget to go and grab those Sale-a-Bration items that retire for good on Monday 15th February!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #6 Sky is the Limit Valentine’s Cards

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We‚Äôre so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin‚Äô Up!¬ģ Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So this is week 6 in our challenge and it coincides with one of¬†our fellow Pootler’s birthday, Sam from Samscraftythings.com so don’t forget to wish her happy birthday along the way! Happy Birthday Sam xx

So for today’s sketch….

12654412_10153834145674463_9172960389834255300_n

Today’s post¬†is a huge mash up of points to get across, so we have our sketch and as I mentioned above we have Sam’s birthday, then there is Valentine’s¬†day¬†tomorrow but also we have a few items¬†from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue¬†that are¬†only available until 15th February, yep two more days to grab these amazing products! I have gone in to more detail about the Sale-a-Bration promotion at the end of this post if you need to know more about how¬†to bag these bargains.

P1010826_marked

For my card bases I used Crumb Cake A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

Then taking the gorgeous Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, and you don’t realise how gorgeous this paper is until you open it! I cut four strips, two from the Melon Mambo/Blushing Bride colour, and one of each of the Crushed Curry/Daffodil Delight, Soft/Tempting Turquoise, measuring 3 x 5 5/8 inches.

I adhered these to my card fronts and then with some more Crumb Cake cardstock I stamped my sentiment from the Sky is the Limit stamp set, and like the DSP this is only available for two more days and would be perfect for Father’s Day cards!!, in¬†Versamark Ink¬†and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder¬†and my heat tool.

As I can’t resist using my Prismacolour pencils on Crumb Cake Cardstock I coloured in the trailing smoky heart image that I lined up under my sentiment using my Stamp-a-mi-jig in matching colours. I then punched these out with the 2″ inch Circle Punch.

I did add in a Happy Birthday sentiment for our Birthday girl! To finish my cards off I adhered my sentiment pieces on to some 2 3/8″ Scalloped Circle punch outs from the Perfectly Artistic DSP.

To add a bit of interest behind my sentiment pieces I made some “Pootle Loops” with some of the White 1 1/4 Jute Ribbon¬†and popped my sentiments up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. To round the cards off I punched out three hearts, it is Valentine’s weekend, with my heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and popped these up and added some Basic Pearl Jewels.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Hello Birthday Card

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We‚Äôre so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin‚Äô Up!¬ģ Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

It has been a while since we did a Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge, with Christmas etc. but we are back on track now and will be “hopping” regularly on a Saturday and bringing you some amazing products!

So for today’s sketch….

For today’s cards I used the¬†brilliant¬†Hello Stamp Set ¬†from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue¬†which is only available until 15th February so you need to get in quick! I have gone in to more detail about the Sale-a-Bration promotion at the end of this post so don’t forget to stay until the end to see how you can qualify for this stamp set and more¬†gorgeous products.

I used a piece of Whisper White A4 Thick Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and I scored both card bases at 5 7/8 inches.

P1010807_marked

For my “birthday girl” card, I stamped the small party hat image randomly all over my card base in Wisteria Wonder Classic Ink and So Saffron Classic Ink. This is one of my favourite colour combinations! It is quite difficult to get the right amount of pressure with these little stamps so have a practice on some scrap paper first. I found I was either applying too much pressure or not enough but you get the hang of it soon enough.

Then using one of my Circles Framelits Dies and my Bigshot I die cut a circle out of Wisteria Wonder A4 Cardstock for my centre piece.

For my “Birthday Boy” card I used Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink and Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink¬†and Tempting Turquoise A4 Cardstock.

On my circle pieces I stamped the “Hello” sentiment in Versamark Ink¬†and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder¬†and my heat tool. I popped these on to my card bases with some Stampin Dimensionals.¬† I finished my circle piece with a couple of the 1/8 inch Mini Brads.

To finish my cards off I stamped my “Birthday Girl” sentiment on to some Whisper White Cardstock¬†in Wisteria Wonder Ink, and my “Birthday Boy” sentiment in Watermelon Wonder Ink. I punched these out with the Washi Label Punch¬†and popped them up with some dimensionals.

I finished off with a few sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment. That’s it for my take on this weeks sketch but I think this stamp set is a must in everyone’s collection so get it quick!!

Thanks for hopping by today, and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog for more inspiration or go check me out on Facebook or Instagram, Louise xx
