Stampin’ Up’s Number of Years 21st Birthday Shaker Card

We had a big birthday in the family this weekend, our Nephew turned 21! It is scary, the younger generation have started coming of age, I feel so old! It kicks off a year of big birthdays in our family, we have two 21st’s, three 18th’s and my best friend turns 40! So I will be busy, anyway todays card is the card I designed for our Nephew using the Number of Years Stamp Set and Framelits Bundle, buying the bundle of the dies and the matching stamp set saves you a massive 15%. If you want to see what other stamp sets are on offer as a bundle click HERE!

Firstly I wanted to make my main focal piece for the card front, the shaker element. I took a 6×4 Project Life card from the Moments Like These Project Life Card Collection and die cut 21 with the Large Number Framelits Dies and my Bigshot. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the card with some Multi Purpose Liquid Glue. I created an area around my numbers using Stampin Dimensionals for my shaker sequins to go in, making sure there were no gaps between the dimensionals for any stray sequins to fall out of. I popped in my sequins and added some dimensionals on the rest of the piece and added a piece of Daffodil Delight A4 Cardstock cut to 6×4 inches to close my piece up.

For my card base I cut two pieces of Daffodil Delight A4 cardstock, the first to 5 x 7 1/2 inches and the second to 5 x 7 inches. On the bigger piece I scored a line at the half inch mark and folded along my score line. I then added some Fast Fuse Adhesive, and adhered my first piece to this making a 5 x 7 card base. Taking the number images from the Number of Years Stamp Set I stamped 21 in the matching Daffodil Delight Classic Ink all over my card base. Before adhering my shaker element I adhered a piece of the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack to the back at an angle.

To finish my card front off I die cut two more 21’s from some Daffodil Delight cardstock and some Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered these together and onto my card front. Then taking one of the smaller 3×4 Project Life cards I cut out the “Today” sentiment and adhered this to the right of my silver 21.

For the inside of my card I again used some tone on tone stamping with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and the stars image from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set, this stamp set is without a doubt the most versatile to have in your collection. I then stamped my sentiment using the Number of Years Stamp Set and some Basic Black Archival Stampin Pad. I popped a few random sequins on the front of my card and we are all done!

I hope this has given you some inspiration and I love using Project Life cards for more than just Project Life so why not try them out!?

Make It Monday Stampin’ Up Sale-a-Bration This Day Notebooks

Make it Monday! I am hoping to post regularly with some creative projects that are not cards to try and push myself out of my comfort zone and showcase the versatility of Stampin Up products.  Don’t get me wrong I love my cards and would say its my “thing” but I love all the inspirational projects I see on other blogs and Pinterest and want to recreate them so Monday’s posts will be where I will share my makes with you!

As some of you may know I am a fairly new Stampin’ Up Demonstrator and I am working hard to build my business.  So for today’s Make It Monday I decided to start making my “Thank you” and “Welcome” packs.  I will be sending these packs out to my customers and anyone that joins my team as a little Thank you!

This Day Notebooks

This Day Notebooks

I have a stash of memo pads that have been waiting to be brightened up.  I got these from my local pound shop, you normally get 3 or 4 in a pack for a £1, bargain!  So I measured the notebook including the front page, the spine on the top and added a couple of inches of cardstock at the back for me to be able to adhere the cardstock to the notebook.  So the four pieces of A4 cardstock for the covers of my notebooks were, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry.  These pieces measured 4 1/8 inch x 7 inches.  I then scored these at 5 7/8 inches and 6 1/8 inches.  I took some Tonbow Mono Multi Glue and spread some on the back piece of the cardstock and adhered this to the back of my notebook.

To decorate my notebooks I decided to use the Sale-a-Bration Project Life “This Day” Mini Card Collection.  You can get these free as part of the Sale-a-Bration promotion with every £45 you spend, see more details below.

These cards are perfect, so bright and cheerful and just the right size, I had to cut off a 1/4 inch off the bigger card.  I adhered these to the fronts of my notebooks with some Fast Fuse adhesive.  I then took the coordinating smaller cards and popped these up on Stampin Dimensionals . To finish off my bright and cheerful notebooks I just popped on some Brights Candy Dots.
