Welcome to the third week of June’s projects with the Pootler’s Design Team. As mentioned last week we will be using the Balloon Builders Stamp Set.

This weeks card is based on the reason I wanted this stamp set in the first place, “Sweets”, yes sweets!! I have seen a couple of examples of cards using the smaller balloon shapes in the set and they reminded me of jelly beans. So my card this week is a sweetie card, and no not all my cards on based on sweet treats.

I stamped three of the smaller balloon images in my three favourite colours, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise Classic Inks, on to a sheet of A4 Whisper White Cardstock. Creating a sheet of my own DSP, once dry I used my Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen to add a bit of sparkle to my sweeties. I then trimmed this down to card fronts (3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches) and a adhered them to a card base of Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise A4 Cardstock (cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches).

I took some A4 Vellum Cardstock and stamped a “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with White Stampin Embossing Powder. I then flipped this over and on the backside I coloured my sentiment in with the co-ordinating Stampin Write Markers. I cut a banner shape at the bottom and then adhered this to my card front using some discreet Glue Dots and Fast Fuse. Finally I added a piece of Whisper White Thick Bakers Twine to finish off my card.

I think you will agree this is a bright, fun and sweet birthday card!? Don’t forget to pop back next week to see what I come up with next!

Stampin’ Up’s Number of Years 21st Birthday Shaker Card

We had a big birthday in the family this weekend, our Nephew turned 21! It is scary, the younger generation have started coming of age, I feel so old! It kicks off a year of big birthdays in our family, we have two 21st’s, three 18th’s and my best friend turns 40! So I will be busy, anyway todays card is the card I designed for our Nephew using the Number of Years Stamp Set and Framelits Bundle, buying the bundle of the dies and the matching stamp set saves you a massive 15%. If you want to see what other stamp sets are on offer as a bundle click HERE!

Firstly I wanted to make my main focal piece for the card front, the shaker element. I took a 6×4 Project Life card from the Moments Like These Project Life Card Collection and die cut 21 with the Large Number Framelits Dies and my Bigshot. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the card with some Multi Purpose Liquid Glue. I created an area around my numbers using Stampin Dimensionals for my shaker sequins to go in, making sure there were no gaps between the dimensionals for any stray sequins to fall out of. I popped in my sequins and added some dimensionals on the rest of the piece and added a piece of Daffodil Delight A4 Cardstock cut to 6×4 inches to close my piece up.

P1010816_marked

For my card base I cut two pieces of Daffodil Delight A4 cardstock, the first to 5 x 7 1/2 inches and the second to 5 x 7 inches. On the bigger piece I scored a line at the half inch mark and folded along my score line. I then added some Fast Fuse Adhesive, and adhered my first piece to this making a 5 x 7 card base. Taking the number images from the Number of Years Stamp Set I stamped 21 in the matching Daffodil Delight Classic Ink all over my card base. Before adhering my shaker element I adhered a piece of the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack to the back at an angle.

To finish my card front off I die cut two more 21’s from some Daffodil Delight cardstock and some Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered these together and onto my card front. Then taking one of the smaller 3×4 Project Life cards I cut out the “Today” sentiment and adhered this to the right of my silver 21.

P1010817_marked

For the inside of my card I again used some tone on tone stamping with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and the stars image from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set, this stamp set is without a doubt the most versatile to have in your collection. I then stamped my sentiment using the Number of Years Stamp Set and some Basic Black Archival Stampin Pad. I popped a few random sequins on the front of my card and we are all done!

I hope this has given you some inspiration and I love using Project Life cards for more than just Project Life so why not try them out!?

Stampin Up Daffodil Delight Post It Note Swaps for Telford 2015

So it is a busy time at the moment in the Stampin Up! world. First we had the retiring list, then we have the sneak peeks from the new catalogue and on the 3rd June the new catalogue launches!

However, this weekend (May 16) was the Regional Stampin Up Training event in Telford. I was lucky enough to be able to attend and had a fabulous time and met some lovely ladies, it was my first Stampin Up event and I was not disappointed.

Daffodil Delight Post It Note Holder

Daffodil Delight Post It Note Holder

To take along with me I made 50 swaps to exchange with my fellow demonstrators and before I share with you the lovely examples from the event I thought I would share what I made to take along.

For my Post It note holder I took a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock measuring 6 3/4 x 3 1/8 inches and scored it at 3 1/8 inches and 3 5/8 inches. I then took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3 x 3 inches and sponged the edges with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and adhered this to my base. Taking another piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock measuring 2 6/8 x 2 6/8 inches and adhering this also to my base.

The main embellishment is a flower taken from the Petal Potpourri Stamp set,  stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin Embossing Powder on to Vellum Cardstock. I punched this out with my Flower Medallion Punch and adhered on to the front of my Post It holder.

To finish off my swap I cut a small sentiment strip and stamped a sentiment from the Hello Life Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight Classic Ink. I also punched out a flower from the four leaf petal punch from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack, I added this along with a Basic Pearl Jewel and not forgetting to add a Sticky Note pad inside!

Tag It Tuesday Stampin’ Up Daffodil Delight Treat Cup Favours

Last one I promise!! I had to break out the treat cups as these are super cute and I was gutted to see them on the retiring list, so if you want to stock up, be quick and have a look at the list HERE!

Daffodil Delight Treat Cup Favours

Daffodil Delight Treat Cup Favours

For my Treat Cup favours firstly I took some Daffodil Delight cardstock and cut it to 3 inches x 4 inches and some of the Daffodil Delight Background Designer Paper Stack cut to 2 6/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches. I wanted to prettify my DSP but didn’t want it to only 2 inches wide as this wouldn’t cover my treat cups!! So rather than sliding my DSP into the Ornate Tag Topper punch as usual if you see the picture below you can see I slid my DSP in over the feed and could still punch my tag and then just snip the edge off either side with some scissors.

Ornate Tag Topper

Ornate Tag Topper

So taking one of my Circle Treat Cups I peeled off the adhesive from around the edge and filled with yummy treats and popped it on to my cardstock.  I now need to make my circle in my DSP so it can pop on to my cardstock over my treat cup. I used one of my Circle Framelit Collection and my Big Shot and die cut a circle out of my DSP. I adhered this then to my cardstock and treat cup with some TonBow Mono Multi Glue.

Easy peasy!! To finish my treat cup favours off I attached one of the Something Borrowed Embellishments to some Linen Thread and popped this on to my favour with a Glue Dot. To cover this I tied a little bow with some 1/8 Silver Taffeta Ribbon and popped this on with another glue dot. Final touch was three Basic Pearl Jewels in the corner. Hope you agree fresh pretty and perfect for a summer wedding or a summer party!

Make it Monday Stampin’ Up Daffodil Delight Wedding Favour Bags

Inspired by my card yesterday I decided to run with the Daffodil Delight Wedding theme for today’s Make it Monday!

Daffodil Delight Wedding Favour Bags

Daffodil Delight Wedding Favour Bags

For my bag I took a piece of Daffodil Delight Background Designer Paper Stacks measuring 11 inches x 6 inches and scored along the longest side first at 1 inch, 5 inches, 6 inches and 10 inches and along the shortest side 1 inch.  Folding all the score lines and then holding the paper at landscape cut up all the short score lines and then cutting away the bottom right hand square. Using some Fast Fuse adhesive I adhered the two sides together and then folding in all edges along the bottom I adhered this too.

Your Perfect Day Favour Bags

Your Perfect Day Favour Bags

Taking some A4 Daffodil Delight Cardstock, some more Daffodil Delight DSP and some left over embossed vellum I die cut some circles for my tags using my BigShot and the Circles Collection Framelits. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Your Perfect Day Stamp Set stamped with Versamark Ink, Stampin White Embossing Powder and melted with my heat tool on the Daffodil Delight circle. Taking my 1/8 inch handheld punch I punched two holes in the top of my bag and each of my tags. I then fed some Silver Taffeta Ribbon through the two holes and my tags and tied a bow (after a million attempts). I mean how hard is it to tie a nice pretty bow when you want to!?

Cheers to the new Mrs & Mrs

Cheers to the new Mrs & Mrs

To finish my bags I added one of the Something Borrowed Embellishments with a Glue Dot. I think this bag is so cute and would be ideal for popping in all sorts of goodies for guests at a wedding, I hope you think so too!

For some delicate detail I took a piece of A4 Vellum stamped it with the Something Lacy Background Stamp using Versamark Ink and then using White Stampin Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool heat emboss this.  To finish my piece I cut it to 5 2/8 inches x 2 inches and adhered it to my card base with some Stampin Dimensionals.

Congrats to you two sentiment

Congrats to you two sentiment

For my sentiment, which I took from the Your Perfect Day Stamp Set, I took a strip of Daffodil Delight Cardstock measuring 5 7/8 inches x 1 1/2 inches and again stamped my sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with the White Stampin Embossing Powder.  I adhered this to my embossed vellum with more Stampin Dimensionals. To finish my card I punched a heart with the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack out of some of the scrap embossed vellum and popped this on a dimensional to my sentiment piece and scattered on some Basic Pearl Jewels.

I really love this card, it is probabaly one of my favourite makes recently but then Yellow is my favourite colour and just happen to be the colour of my mom’s wedding dress! (they were married in the 70’s)

Make it Monday Stampin’ Up 3 x 3 Note Card Box

For todays Make it Monday I decided to make a presentation box for the 3 x 3 note cards I made a few weeks back, if you missed it and want to have a look click on the photo below!

SAB Irresistibly Yours Note Cards

SAB Irresistibly Yours Note Cards

I wanted to display my notecards so I used a piece of Window Sheet cut to 4 2/8 inches x 4 2/8 inches scored at 1/4 inch on all four sides.  You have to give it a good score, two or three times, as it is quite stiff.  Burnish the score lines well with your Bone Folder and take your time to make sure they line up. I cut up the first bottom right corner and notched out slightly then rotated my piece 90 degrees and repeated 4 times. I used Fast Fuse adhesive to adhere all four corners and I had my lid.

3 x 3 Note Card Window Box

3 x 3 Note Card Window Box

For the base of my box I used some A4 Daffodil Delight Cardstock cut to 5 inches x 5 inches scored at 7/8 inch on all four sides. I again cut up and notched out slightly on each bottom right corner rotating 90 degrees until all 4 corners were done. I used Fast Fuse to adhere all my corners and there is my base.

3 x 3 Notecard Box with Daffodil Delight

3 x 3 Notecard Box with Daffodil Delight

So I popped my window lid on and finished it off by tying a bow with some Daffodil Delight Cotton Ribbon.  This is a simple but cute box which you can adapt and use for all kinds of gifts!
