Pootlers Blog Hop Merry Mice Christmas Card

bog hop-001Welcome to another Pootler’s Team Blog Hop! This blog hop is to showcase some of the gorgeous goodies in the seasonal Autumn & Winter Catalogue that was released on 1st September.

It’s no secret I love colouring with my Prismacolour pencils on our Crumb Cake Cardstock, I love the way the colours pop!! As soon as I saw the Merry Mice Stamp Set I knew I would be getting out my coloured pencils. I know it may feel a wee bit earlier for Christmas cards but last year I made all of my own and although I did get a head start I still ended up making dozens in a mad rush in the run up to the big day, so this year I am thinking “the earlier the better!”.

I stamped my carol singing mouse in some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to my favourite Crumb Cake Cardstock (3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches). I had so much fun colouring in my little mouse friend. I still need plenty of practice with my pencils but I love finding cute little images like this to use. I added some extra snow accents with a white gel pen.

20160910_142856_marked_edited

I popped my mouse card front on to a mat of Real Red Cardstock (4″ x 5 6/8 inches) and then on to a card base of Crumb Cake Cardstock with some of my favourite adhesive Fast Fuse (cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches). I stamped my sentiment in Versamark Ink on a strip of Real Red Cardstock and heat embossed with some White Stampin Up Emboss Powder. My sentiment was not completely central…ooops! so I rescued this by adding some white gel pen faux stitching and that is my first Christmas card for 2016 completed!!

Stampin’ Up UK Independent Demonstrator “What I’ve been up to!”

I just wanted to check in with you today and let you know what I have been up to!

Its been a busy couple of weeks on the Stampin’ Up calendar, we had our On Stage event which I attended, we had the retiring list come out which you can still take advantage of up until 31st May 2016. At On Stage we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at this years new 2016/17 catalogue which I have to say is amazing and I am so excited!!! We as demonstrators are allowed to place pre-orders for some of the scrummy new delights so we can share them with you in the run up to the catalogue release, which I will be doing so shortly.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Onstage was an amazing day. I got to meet up with my fellow Pootler’s and my Upline Sam. We got to try out some of the new products, we were given lots of goodies (including a copy of the new catalogue) and we learnt so much from representatives from Stampin’ Up as well as fellow demonstrators whom shared some amazing makes and ideas. It didn’t stop there we also had a team training day on the Sunday organised by Sam for her team which again was brilliant, I loved every second of my Stampin’ Up weekend! Oh and bonus I came away with some beautiful swaps, some I have eaten 🙂 (not the packaging hahaha….)

I made some cute little boxes for my swaps. As I have said before, I have to step out of my comfort zone when making 3D projects so I hope my fellow demonstrators enjoyed their swap and the little chocolate surprise inside 🙂

For my boxes I used the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper, co-ordinating A4 Cardstock in Crumbcake, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and Basic Black. I also used Co-ordinating Classic Inks in Crumbcake and Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo and Rose Red, Mint Macaron and Garden Green and finally Crushed curry and Tangerine Tango. I used the Flower Patch Stamp Set and co-ordinating Flower Flair Framelits. For the sentiment I used the Many More sentiments Stamp Set and the Word Window punch.

We were set a few challenges that weekend, Sara Douglas CEO of Stampin’ Up set us a goal of booking one extra event every month for 6 months #sixmonthstampingoals. So with this in mind I took part in my first carft fair at the weekend and I have to say I really enjoyed it, I made some great contacts with other stall holders and ultimately got myself out there!!

I learnt a few things too, what people like to buy and I was mainly asked for male themed cards!! So this week that is my challenge to myself, make some male cards. Again, stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself…I will be sharing these here with you this week! Also I have a project week planned where I will be sharing some of the amazing project kits that you can get in our amazing catalogues, including a sneaky peek of a kit featured in the new catalogue!!! This will kick off a few sneak peek projects using some of the gorgeous new products.

For my card bases I used Crumb Cake A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

Then taking the gorgeous Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, and you don’t realise how gorgeous this paper is until you open it! I cut four strips, two from the Melon Mambo/Blushing Bride colour, and one of each of the Crushed Curry/Daffodil Delight, Soft/Tempting Turquoise, measuring 3 x 5 5/8 inches.

I adhered these to my card fronts and then with some more Crumb Cake cardstock I stamped my sentiment from the Sky is the Limit stamp set, and like the DSP this is only available for two more days and would be perfect for Father’s Day cards!!, in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my heat tool.

As I can’t resist using my Prismacolour pencils on Crumb Cake Cardstock I coloured in the trailing smoky heart image that I lined up under my sentiment using my Stamp-a-mi-jig in matching colours. I then punched these out with the 2″ inch Circle Punch.

I did add in a Happy Birthday sentiment for our Birthday girl! To finish my cards off I adhered my sentiment pieces on to some 2 3/8″ Scalloped Circle punch outs from the Perfectly Artistic DSP.

To add a bit of interest behind my sentiment pieces I made some “Pootle Loops” with some of the White 1 1/4 Jute Ribbon and popped my sentiments up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. To round the cards off I punched out three hearts, it is Valentine’s weekend, with my heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and popped these up and added some Basic Pearl Jewels.

Pootlers Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop Stampin Up Flowering Fields Card

bog hop-001

Welcome to another Pootler’s Blog Hop. Today’s hop is all about showcasing some of the stunning products that are available FREE, yes I said FREE, as part of Stampin’ Up’s annual Sale-a-Bration. I have gone in to more detail at the end of the post so don’t forget to stay until the end to see how you can qualify for some of these gorgeous products. So you may have joined me from our lovely Pootles…I mean Sam or if you working backwards Camille. All my fellow Pootler’s have produced some fab pieces to show you what you can do with all the freebies on offer!

P1010796_marked

So for me today I couldn’t wait to make these cards. As soon as I saw the Flowering Fields Stamp Set in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue I knew what my first card would be, but when it came to making it I couldn’t decide to go very simple with just one flower or add a few of the flowers as I really wanted to showcase how stunning they are, so as indecisive as I am I plumbed for both!

For my card bases I used Crumb Cake A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches. I cut a card front for each card again from Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. On my card fronts using Versamark Ink and my Stamp-a-ma-Jig I stamped my flower images. I then heat embossed these with some White Stampin Embossing Powder.

Once embossed I coloured my flowers with my Prismacolour pencils but you can use any pencils you have to hand, the images are tiny so any amount of colour along with the white embossing powder will pop! When my card fronts were finished I wrapped some Silver Bakers Twine around them and popped these up on my card front with some Stampin Dimensionals.

These cards were very simple and quick to make, I have decided I am going to make some notelet sets for gifts for mother’s day! The possibilities with this stamp set are endless so stay tuned!!

Anyway next you will be hopping along to the lovely Camille or hopping back to our Sam, enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by today, Louise xx

Stampin’ Up Perfect Blend and Irresistibly Yours Friend Card

I told you didn’t I, I am in love with the Irresistibly Yours speciality designer series paper!!  I want to throw all my ink colours at it and I intend to try as many as possible.  I have also been dying to break out the Perfect Blend stamp set since I ordered it.  It was a must have for me as many of my closest friends are huge coffee drinkers so I am sure it will have many outings with me.  I also recently invested in the Neutrals colour collection Classic Ink pads and A4 cardstock so it seemed ideal to put them altogether and see what I could come up with.

Perfect Blend & Irresistibly Yours Cards

Perfect Blend & Irresistibly Yours Cards

So I got inky again with the Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours Speciality Designer Series paper and for the first card I used the diagonal striped design measuring 5.5 x 3 6/8 inches (14 x 9.5 cm) and sponged it with Crumb Cake Classic Ink staring in the middle of my piece of paper and working my way out to the edges.  I cut a piece of Crumb Cake A4 cardstock down to 4 1/8 x 11 6/8 inches (10.5 x 29.6 cm) and scored it at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) to make a top folding portrait card base.  I stamped the main image and coloured it in and paper pieced the middle band and the cup lid with papers from the Moonlight Designer Series paper stack.  Then taking a small band of Early Espresso cardstock I stamped one of the sentiments from the Perfect Blend stamp set with Versamark ink and embossed this with Stampin White Embossing powder.  At this point I thought it needed something else and I can never leave well alone so I reached for the “amazing” Perpetual Calendar Stamp set (which has to be the most versatile stamp set ever!) and used the “splotchy/spill” stamp along side the sentiment and again embossed this to match the sentiment.  I popped all this on the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals and as a finishing touch added some Chocolate Chip Neutrals candy dots.  I kept the inside quite simple, I took 2 small strips of the Moonlight designer series paper stack and added these for a bit of interest and this is card number one!

For the second card I took a piece of Irresistibly Yours Designer series paper, I chose the stars pattern and cut this a bit smaller 3 7/8 x 3.5 inches (10 x 9 cm) as I wanted to use the darker colour of Chocolate Chip to sponge on to it.  I cut a piece of A4 Chocolate Chip cardstock to 8 2/8 x 5 7/8 inches (21 x 14.8 cm) scored at 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm) for my card base making a top folding landscape card.  Again I stamped and coloured the coffee cup image and paper pieced the lid and band around the cup with papers from the Moonlight Designer series paper stack, on this image I also added some linen thread around the cup.  I then took a strip of Vellum cardstock and heat embossed the second sentiment from the stamp set with white Stampin’ Embossing powder.  I cut the vellum piece into a banner shape at one end.  I then reached for the Perpetual Calendar stamp set again and this time used the star images and stamped and heat embossed this onto the main card base.  I adhered all this to the card base with Stampin Dimensionals and added a final touch of Neutrals candy dots to the sentiment strip. The inside again was very simple, I used a bigger plain piece of designer series paper from the Moonlight paper stack to allow for somewhere to write a personalised message.

If you are interested in any of the products shown you can click HERE and have a look at what you like the look of!

Don’t forget Sale-a-Bration runs from January 6th to March 31st 2015, so plenty of time to place lots of orders and get as many of the 10, yes 10, free products as you can.  If you spend £45 on Stampin Up products, these can be from the Spring & Summer catalogue or the Annual catalogue, you qualify for one of the exclusive Sale-a-Bration products.  These are in the Sale-a-Bration brochure highlighted “FREE”.  It doesn’t end there! You can earn a free product for every £45 you spend so if you spend £90 you can order 2 free products and if you spend £135 you can order 3 products!! I know it is fab!!! You can also qualify for even more, if you spend over £150 you can get £25 to spend on anything you like from any of the catalogues!!!
