Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So today’s sketch is from the lovely Amanda…….

Amanda did a fabulous job with her sketch and I loved that she provided us with the inspiration photo behind her sketch. Once she did this I pictured my card straight away! I knew what stamp set and matching Thinlits Dies, mostly the Thinlits Dies, that I was going to use and I couldn’t wait to break out my Hang Your Stocking Thinlits Dies and Stamp Set!! This is available as a Bundle saving 10%.

I am quite the traditionalist when it comes to Christmas, I like reds, greens and gold’s. So my card base is a piece of Real Red A4 Cardstock cut at 5 7/8 inches and scored at 4 1/8 inches.  Using the large stocking Thinlit, I did some partial die cutting which left some of the stocking shape on the edge of my card front.

20161216_213741_edited_marked

I then made up my cute stockings using the patterned Thinlets in Real Red Cardstock and the base of my stocking and the trimmings die cut from some Gold Foil Sheet. I adhered these altogether first and then applied them to my card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, as I want to post this card and did not want too much dimension.

20161216_214058_edited_marked

On my card base I stamped my sentiment, which I have to say I did not even notice when purchasing the stamp set but it is soooo pretty and embosses really well, in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with my heat tool and some Gold Stampin Emboss Powder. I also used two of the tiny snowflake images stamped randomly and also heat embossed for the rest of my card front.

I have to say that this card really did not take long to make, in fact I was quite shocked at how quickly it came together and I really like it. I am planning on re-creating it some more colours, probably traditional but you never know so keep an eye out over on my Instagram page (link in the sidebar) for quick peeks!

Pootler’s Design Team Balloon Builders Rainbow Birthday Card Week #5

13131041_10153500487306603_7349292774340075556_o

Welcome to the fourth week of June’s projects with the Pootler’s Design Team. As mentioned previously the stamp set for this months challenge is the Balloon Builders Stamp Set.

This week is a busy birthday week for me with some big birthdays happening so I wanted to make a bit of a special birthday card and I love making shaker cards! For this weeks card I got my colour inspiration from the Pop Of Pink Speciality Designer Series Paper, which I have finally broke into. I used a piece of the DSP (measuring 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8inches) for my card front. For my card base I used some Basic Black A4 Cardstock (cut at 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches). I then adhered a piece of Melon Mambo A4 Cardstock (4 inches x 5 6/8 inches) with Fast Fuse Adhesive.

I took a piece of Whisper White A4 Cardstock (3 5/8 inches x 5 3/8 inches) and along with my piece of DSP I die cut two squares using the fabulous Layering Squares Framelit Dies. Using some Melon Mambo and Basic Black cardstock and the squares framelits I die cut two frames for my shaker windows, I adhered my DSP to my Whisper White piece and my frames to my windows. On the reverse I adhered some Window Sheet to my shaker windows and applied some of the super new Foam Adhesive Strip. On some more Whisper White I stamped two larger balloon images and two smaller balloon images from the stamp set in Melon Mambo Classic Ink, which I then punched out with the co-ordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch. I also punched out some balloons in Shimmery White Cardstock and some more Melon Mambo and Basic Black.

On my card base I adhered one smaller stamped and punched out balloon to each space where my shaker windows will be. I popped in some sequins from both the Metallics and Brights Sequin Mixes. I then popped on my card front. To the side of each shaker window I adhered a larger balloon punch out with some Tonbow Mono Multi Glue and popped up a larger stamped balloon image with some Stampin Dimensionals. To finish of my card front I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the stamp set in some Versamark Ink on a smallpiece of Melon Mambo cardstock and heat embossed with some White Stampin Emboss Powder.  I cut this in to a flag end and popped it up with some dimensionals on to my card and of course covered everything in Wink of Stella. For the inside I just used a couple of the die cut pieces from my shaker windows and adhered these for a pop of colour.

I am very happy with how this card turned out and is pretty simple to recreate! Don’t forget to pop back next week to see what I come up with next!

Pootler’s Design Team Balloon Builders Birthday Shaker Card Week #4

Pootler’s Design Team Balloon Builders Birthday Celebration Week #3

13131041_10153500487306603_7349292774340075556_o

Welcome to the third week of June’s projects with the Pootler’s Design Team. As mentioned last week we will be using the Balloon Builders Stamp Set.

This weeks card is based on the reason I wanted this stamp set in the first place, “Sweets”, yes sweets!! I have seen a couple of examples of cards using the smaller balloon shapes in the set and they reminded me of jelly beans. So my card this week is a sweetie card, and no not all my cards on based on sweet treats.

I stamped three of the smaller balloon images in my three favourite colours, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise Classic Inks, on to a sheet of A4 Whisper White Cardstock. Creating a sheet of my own DSP, once dry I used my Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen to add a bit of sparkle to my sweeties. I then trimmed this down to card fronts (3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches) and a adhered them to a card base of Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise A4 Cardstock (cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches).

I took some A4 Vellum Cardstock and stamped a “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with White Stampin Embossing Powder. I then flipped this over and on the backside I coloured my sentiment in with the co-ordinating Stampin Write Markers. I cut a banner shape at the bottom and then adhered this to my card front using some discreet Glue Dots and Fast Fuse. Finally I added a piece of Whisper White Thick Bakers Twine to finish off my card.

I think you will agree this is a bright, fun and sweet birthday card!? Don’t forget to pop back next week to see what I come up with next!

Stampin’ Up’s Number of Years 21st Birthday Shaker Card

We had a big birthday in the family this weekend, our Nephew turned 21! It is scary, the younger generation have started coming of age, I feel so old! It kicks off a year of big birthdays in our family, we have two 21st’s, three 18th’s and my best friend turns 40! So I will be busy, anyway todays card is the card I designed for our Nephew using the Number of Years Stamp Set and Framelits Bundle, buying the bundle of the dies and the matching stamp set saves you a massive 15%. If you want to see what other stamp sets are on offer as a bundle click HERE!

P1010814_marked

Firstly I wanted to make my main focal piece for the card front, the shaker element. I took a 6×4 Project Life card from the Moments Like These Project Life Card Collection and die cut 21 with the Large Number Framelits Dies and my Bigshot. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the card with some Multi Purpose Liquid Glue. I created an area around my numbers using Stampin Dimensionals for my shaker sequins to go in, making sure there were no gaps between the dimensionals for any stray sequins to fall out of. I popped in my sequins and added some dimensionals on the rest of the piece and added a piece of Daffodil Delight A4 Cardstock cut to 6×4 inches to close my piece up.

P1010816_marked

For my card base I cut two pieces of Daffodil Delight A4 cardstock, the first to 5 x 7 1/2 inches and the second to 5 x 7 inches. On the bigger piece I scored a line at the half inch mark and folded along my score line. I then added some Fast Fuse Adhesive, and adhered my first piece to this making a 5 x 7 card base. Taking the number images from the Number of Years Stamp Set I stamped 21 in the matching Daffodil Delight Classic Ink all over my card base. Before adhering my shaker element I adhered a piece of the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack to the back at an angle.

P1010815_marked

To finish my card front off I die cut two more 21’s from some Daffodil Delight cardstock and some Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered these together and onto my card front. Then taking one of the smaller 3×4 Project Life cards I cut out the “Today” sentiment and adhered this to the right of my silver 21.

P1010817_marked

For the inside of my card I again used some tone on tone stamping with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and the stars image from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set, this stamp set is without a doubt the most versatile to have in your collection. I then stamped my sentiment using the Number of Years Stamp Set and some Basic Black Archival Stampin Pad. I popped a few random sequins on the front of my card and we are all done!

I hope this has given you some inspiration and I love using Project Life cards for more than just Project Life so why not try them out!?

Crazy Crafters and Pootlers Blog Hop

10873028_931930150193354_2890599614884038569_o

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters/Pootlers Blog Hop for December. This month we are excited to show off our “2016 Occasions / Sale’a’bration Sneak Peeks”. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Louise at Whiteflagdesigns or you may have come from the person previous to me, Sue Vine from MissPinksCraftSpot. Be sure to click on the next button further down to continue your journey on this extra special blog hop with my fellow Pootler’s and our International crafting sister’s from Australia.

P1010774_marked

I was so excited to get my copy of the new 2016 Occasions catalogue, but I was even more excited when I saw the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set I love it and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! The new 2016 Occasions Catalogue starts 2nd January and then you will also be able to get your hands on all these lovely goodies! Not forgetting from 5th January (excitingly jumps around) Sale’a’Bration starts!!

P1010775_marked

For my card base I used a piece of Whisper White A4 Thick Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches. Using some of the gorgeous Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack I cut two strips measuring 1 1/2 inches x 5 7/8 inches. I adhered the Crushed Curry piece to my card front using Snail Adhesive. With the Bermuda Bay piece of DSP I did some partial die cutting with the tea cup die from the matching Cups and Kettle Framelits Die Set (which is available as a bundle saving 15%…….Amazing!!!). I then adhered this to my card front also.

I stamped the main image from the stamp set on to some Whisper White A4 Cardstock with some Melon Mambo Classic Ink. I did some “fussy cutting” and popped this up on some Stampin Dimensionals onto my card front.

To finish off the front of my card I stamped the “Steaming” Heart image above my teacups in Melon Mambo ink using the stamping off technique to go along with our theme for this blog hop of “One die or punch, One Stamp Set, One DSP and One Ink”. I also had to add some of the New Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush Pen to my stamped hearts. To top it all off I added some of the It’s My Party Enamel Dots.

P1010776_marked

For the inside of my card I stamped a sentiment and a cute little heart, in some Melon Mambo ink, from the stamp set.

Well that’s my card for this extra special blog hop with our International friends.

Thanks for hopping by, Louise xx

Stampin’ Up Happy Scenes Hearth and Home Halloween Card

Following on from Saturday’s card I am sticking with the Halloween theme for a few projects this week including my first experience with one of Stampin’ Up’s kits. Anyway back to todays card, it raised an issue for me and it maybe something you struggle with……”perfectionism”.

P1010718_marked

For todays card I used some Whisper White A4 Thick Cardstock for my card base cut 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches for a top folding card. I then used some Pumpkin Pie A4 Cardstock cut to 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I took this piece of cardstock and using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder ran it through my BigShot.  While my BigShot is out I took some Whisper White A4 Cardstock  and the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies and die cut my window frame.

P1010720_marked

Using the Happy Scenes Stamp Set , the pumpkin image in particular, I stamped this in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on some Whisper White cardstock and then using some Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink and Old Olive Classic Ink to sponge an autumn sky and some grass around the tree. Using my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker I coloured in the pumpkins.  I adhered my window frame to my coloured piece with some Tonbow Mono Mutli Glue. I adhered my embossed piece of cardstock with some Fast Fuse to my card base and then popped my window frame up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

P1010719_marked

To finish today’s card I took a small piece of A4 Vellum and stamped my sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with some White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Heat Tool. I adhered this to my card and finished off with a few Candy Dots.  I wasn’t completely happy  with the finish of this card, I wanted to attempt some card surgery but stopped myself. I often struggle with my perfectionism when it comes to finishing projects but I am learning to appreciate that what I am not keen on others may really appreciate.

Thanks for stopping by today!
