Pootler’s Design Team Balloon Builders Birthday Celebration Week #3

13131041_10153500487306603_7349292774340075556_o

Welcome to the third week of June’s projects with the Pootler’s Design Team. As mentioned last week we will be using the Balloon Builders Stamp Set.

This weeks card is based on the reason I wanted this stamp set in the first place, “Sweets”, yes sweets!! I have seen a couple of examples of cards using the smaller balloon shapes in the set and they reminded me of jelly beans. So my card this week is a sweetie card, and no not all my cards on based on sweet treats.

I stamped three of the smaller balloon images in my three favourite colours, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise Classic Inks, on to a sheet of A4 Whisper White Cardstock. Creating a sheet of my own DSP, once dry I used my Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen to add a bit of sparkle to my sweeties. I then trimmed this down to card fronts (3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches) and a adhered them to a card base of Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise A4 Cardstock (cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches).

I took some A4 Vellum Cardstock and stamped a “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with White Stampin Embossing Powder. I then flipped this over and on the backside I coloured my sentiment in with the co-ordinating Stampin Write Markers. I cut a banner shape at the bottom and then adhered this to my card front using some discreet Glue Dots and Fast Fuse. Finally I added a piece of Whisper White Thick Bakers Twine to finish off my card.

I think you will agree this is a bright, fun and sweet birthday card!? Don’t forget to pop back next week to see what I come up with next!

Pootler’s Design Team Balloon Builders Week #2

13131041_10153500487306603_7349292774340075556_o

Welcome to the second week of June’s projects with the Pootler’s Design Team. As mentioned last week we will be using the Balloon Builders Stamp Set.

I used some Sweet Sugarplum A4 Cardstock for my card base (4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches). I added a piece of the gorgeous New Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack  (3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches) to my card base. Then taking a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock  (3 1/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches) and the smallest little balloon stamp and Sweet Sugarplum Classic Ink and Blushing Bride Classic Ink, I stamped my little cute Macaron’s stacked on top of one another.

I finished my Very Vanilla piece off with some faux stitching in my Sweet Sugarplum Stampin Write Marker and my stamped sentiment again in Sweet Sugarplum Ink which I heat embossed with Clear Stampin Emboss Powder.

I popped this piece up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and to finish off I wrapped some of the beautiful Ruched Ribbon in Sweet Sugarplum.

That’s my project for this week don’t forget to pop back next week to see what I come up with next!

Pootler’s Design Team Balloon Builders Week #1

I am thrilled to tell you that I am taking part in the Pootler’s Design Team Challenge this month! Myself and four of my fellow Pootler’s will be creating a project every Thursday through June using the same stamp set sent to us by none other than the lovely Pootles herself!

20160531_191834_marked

So this month’s stamp set is the Balloon Builders set. To be honest this stamp set had crept past me in the catalogue but after a lovely swap I was given at Onstage Telford and seeing some fun projects on Pinterest it made its way on to my wish list, so I was super excited when I received it from Sam, happy days!!

20160531_191858_marked

For this weeks project and with the launch of our brand new catalogue yesterday I decided to also showcase the gorgeous new In Colours 2016-18 by creating a set of birthday cards stamped in our new colours along with the co-ordinating cardstock and absolutely gorgeous Ruched Ribbon.

20160531_191910_marked

Taking five pieces of Whisper White A4 Cardstock (3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches) I stamped the main larger balloon image in each of the new In Colours across my Whisper White piece, firstly 1st generation stamping and then 2nd generation stamping and so on.

20160531_191919_marked

Then using the Happy Birthday sentiment, which fits snugly in the balloon shape, I stamped the darker balloons using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin Embossing Powder on the Emerald Green and Dapper Denim pieces and the others in Silver Stampin Embossing Powder.

20160531_191928_marked

Breaking out my new In Colour 2016-18 Stampin Write Markers I drew on some strings for my balloons. Using some more new goodies I wrapped a piece of Ruched Ribbon around my card front and tied it in a bow (sort of). I then adhered this to my card bases in each of the new In Colours with Stampin Dimensionals.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #10 Stampin’ Up’s Sneak Peek Confetti Celebration Birthday Card

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So this is sketch number 10 of our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Kathleen Rintoul-Waite at http://www.lilypopcrafts.co.uk

So for today’s sketch….

As mentioned in my last post I don’t make many male themed cards so although this sketch incorporated some floral embellishments I switched things round a little bit….

For my card base I used some A4 Whisper White Thick Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches. I then took some A4 Basic Black cardstock cut to 4 inches x 5 6/8 inches for my first mat and then some A4 Tempting Turqouise cardtock cut at 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches for my second mat. I adhered these to my card base using Fast Fuse adhesive. Then taking some A4 Shimmery White cardstock cut to 3 5/8 inches x 5 3/8 inches I cut a 1/4 inch diagonally out of my card front and popped this up onto my card base with some Stampin Dimensionals. Using some thin strips cut from matching cardstock I adhered these in between my split in the card front.

I decided to make two cards but used Bermuda Bay A4 Cardstock for my second card.

Taking some more Basic Black, Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turqouise cardstock I stamped my main sentiment and a star sentiment, from the new Confetti Celebration Stamp Set (from the new 2016/17 Annual Catalogue, available from 1st June), in Versamark Ink  and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. I punched my main sentiment out with my 2″ Circle Punch and punched out the star sentiment with the co-ordinating Star punch. I punched two further stars out with co-ordinating cardstock. I popped all these up on Stampin Dimensionals.

For the inside of my card I adhered a couple of matching strips of cardstock and stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured this in with matching Temtping Turqouise and Bermuda Bay Stampin Write Markers.

This new stamp set is ideal for generic birthday cards, especially teenager cards, and is also available in a bundle with a brand new punch, soon to be revealed, watch this space!!!

Stampin’ Up UK Independent Demonstrator “What I’ve been up to!”

I just wanted to check in with you today and let you know what I have been up to!

Its been a busy couple of weeks on the Stampin’ Up calendar, we had our On Stage event which I attended, we had the retiring list come out which you can still take advantage of up until 31st May 2016. At On Stage we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at this years new 2016/17 catalogue which I have to say is amazing and I am so excited!!! We as demonstrators are allowed to place pre-orders for some of the scrummy new delights so we can share them with you in the run up to the catalogue release, which I will be doing so shortly.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Onstage was an amazing day. I got to meet up with my fellow Pootler’s and my Upline Sam. We got to try out some of the new products, we were given lots of goodies (including a copy of the new catalogue) and we learnt so much from representatives from Stampin’ Up as well as fellow demonstrators whom shared some amazing makes and ideas. It didn’t stop there we also had a team training day on the Sunday organised by Sam for her team which again was brilliant, I loved every second of my Stampin’ Up weekend! Oh and bonus I came away with some beautiful swaps, some I have eaten 🙂 (not the packaging hahaha….)

I made some cute little boxes for my swaps. As I have said before, I have to step out of my comfort zone when making 3D projects so I hope my fellow demonstrators enjoyed their swap and the little chocolate surprise inside 🙂

For my boxes I used the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper, co-ordinating A4 Cardstock in Crumbcake, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and Basic Black. I also used Co-ordinating Classic Inks in Crumbcake and Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo and Rose Red, Mint Macaron and Garden Green and finally Crushed curry and Tangerine Tango. I used the Flower Patch Stamp Set and co-ordinating Flower Flair Framelits. For the sentiment I used the Many More sentiments Stamp Set and the Word Window punch.

We were set a few challenges that weekend, Sara Douglas CEO of Stampin’ Up set us a goal of booking one extra event every month for 6 months #sixmonthstampingoals. So with this in mind I took part in my first carft fair at the weekend and I have to say I really enjoyed it, I made some great contacts with other stall holders and ultimately got myself out there!!

I learnt a few things too, what people like to buy and I was mainly asked for male themed cards!! So this week that is my challenge to myself, make some male cards. Again, stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself…I will be sharing these here with you this week! Also I have a project week planned where I will be sharing some of the amazing project kits that you can get in our amazing catalogues, including a sneaky peek of a kit featured in the new catalogue!!! This will kick off a few sneak peek projects using some of the gorgeous new products.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #9 Stampin’ Up’s Flower Shop Birthday Card

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So this is sketch number 9 of our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Karen McDondald!

So for today’s sketch….

12916815_10154007715904463_2890398223363953566_o

I decided to kill two birds with one stone for this weeks sketch as I needed to make a birthday card for mom, who’s birthday it is today!! Happy Birthday Mom!!!

For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

20160422_180918_marked

I then took a piece of the Shimmery White Cardstock, which I am obsessed with for water colouring, cut to 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I stamped in Versamark Ink some of the images from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. Using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink I water coloured over my stamped images to create a background piece. I then adhered this to a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper cut to 4 inches x 5 6/8 inches.

20160422_181001_marked

Taking some A4 Vellum Cardstock I stamped some different flower images from the stamp set in Versamrk Ink and heat embossed. I punched these out with the Pansy Flower Punch, which is available in a bundle saving 15%.

20160422_180929_marked

Taking some more vellum cardstock I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Versamark and heat embossed again. I cut this in to a banner edged piece ready to attach to my card front.

20160422_180941_marked

Using some of the gorgeous 1″ Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace trim I wrapped a piece vertically around my card front and then tied a Faux bow using a technique I found on Pinterest and my Candy Dots Brad Bases with some Basic Rhinestone Jewels. I then adhered my card front to my card base using Stampin Dimensionals. My last touch was attaching my vellum sentiment piece with three 1/8″ Mini Brads. With some Mini Glue Dots I adhered my punched out Pansy flowers.

I made a second card of this design. The water colouring came up a little more pigmented and I used the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon for my bow.
