So today’s sketch is from the lovely Amanda…….

Amanda did a fabulous job with her sketch and I loved that she provided us with the inspiration photo behind her sketch. Once she did this I pictured my card straight away! I knew what stamp set and matching Thinlits Dies, mostly the Thinlits Dies, that I was going to use and I couldn’t wait to break out my Hang Your Stocking Thinlits Dies and Stamp Set!! This is available as a Bundle saving 10%.

I am quite the traditionalist when it comes to Christmas, I like reds, greens and gold’s. So my card base is a piece of Real Red A4 Cardstock cut at 5 7/8 inches and scored at 4 1/8 inches.  Using the large stocking Thinlit, I did some partial die cutting which left some of the stocking shape on the edge of my card front.

I then made up my cute stockings using the patterned Thinlets in Real Red Cardstock and the base of my stocking and the trimmings die cut from some Gold Foil Sheet. I adhered these altogether first and then applied them to my card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, as I want to post this card and did not want too much dimension.

On my card base I stamped my sentiment, which I have to say I did not even notice when purchasing the stamp set but it is soooo pretty and embosses really well, in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with my heat tool and some Gold Stampin Emboss Powder. I also used two of the tiny snowflake images stamped randomly and also heat embossed for the rest of my card front.

I have to say that this card really did not take long to make, in fact I was quite shocked at how quickly it came together and I really like it. I am planning on re-creating it some more colours, probably traditional but you never know so keep an eye out over on my Instagram page (link in the sidebar) for quick peeks!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #11 Barnyard Babies Little Lamb Baby Card

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So today’s sketch is from the lovely Keren Howell….

Okay so today’s card was an easy one for me as we have a new baby in our family! This card is for the very lucky and very proud Grand-parents. I decided to go for Flirty Flamingo A4 Cardstock (cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches), this is fast becoming my favourite Pink in the colour families. I stamped the Little Lamb (sooooo cute!!!) image from the Barnyard Babies Stamp Set on to some A4 Shimmery White Cardstock in Basic Black Archival Ink. I love this cardstock, it is becoming a go to basic for me.

Taking my Flirty Flamingo Classic Ink and Smoky Slate Classic Ink I water coloured my image and out aside to dry. Then, with a piece of A4 Vellum (cut to 2 1/2 inches x 5 7/8 inches) I stamped the little lamb image in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. I adhered this to my card base with some Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I punched out my little lamb with my 2 inch Circle Punch and popped it on my card front with some Stampin Dimensionals. Taking some more Shimmery White cardstock I stamped my sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink  and punched it out using the new label punch. I also punched out a label from some more Flirty Flamingo cardstock and adhered these together with some multipurpose liquid glue and popped this up on my card base. To finishmy card off I added some Basic Pearls.

I am very happy with how this card turned out and it is so simple and quick to recreate! Don’t forget to hop along and see how everyone else got along with this month’s sketch!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #10 Stampin’ Up’s Sneak Peek Confetti Celebration Birthday Card

So this is sketch number 10 of our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Kathleen Rintoul-Waite at http://www.lilypopcrafts.co.uk

So for today’s sketch….

As mentioned in my last post I don’t make many male themed cards so although this sketch incorporated some floral embellishments I switched things round a little bit….

For my card base I used some A4 Whisper White Thick Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches. I then took some A4 Basic Black cardstock cut to 4 inches x 5 6/8 inches for my first mat and then some A4 Tempting Turqouise cardtock cut at 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches for my second mat. I adhered these to my card base using Fast Fuse adhesive. Then taking some A4 Shimmery White cardstock cut to 3 5/8 inches x 5 3/8 inches I cut a 1/4 inch diagonally out of my card front and popped this up onto my card base with some Stampin Dimensionals. Using some thin strips cut from matching cardstock I adhered these in between my split in the card front.

I decided to make two cards but used Bermuda Bay A4 Cardstock for my second card.

Taking some more Basic Black, Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turqouise cardstock I stamped my main sentiment and a star sentiment, from the new Confetti Celebration Stamp Set (from the new 2016/17 Annual Catalogue, available from 1st June), in Versamark Ink  and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. I punched my main sentiment out with my 2″ Circle Punch and punched out the star sentiment with the co-ordinating Star punch. I punched two further stars out with co-ordinating cardstock. I popped all these up on Stampin Dimensionals.

For the inside of my card I adhered a couple of matching strips of cardstock and stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then coloured this in with matching Temtping Turqouise and Bermuda Bay Stampin Write Markers.

This new stamp set is ideal for generic birthday cards, especially teenager cards, and is also available in a bundle with a brand new punch, soon to be revealed, watch this space!!!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #9 Stampin’ Up’s Flower Shop Birthday Card

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So this is sketch number 9 of our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Karen McDondald!

So for today’s sketch….

12916815_10154007715904463_2890398223363953566_o

I decided to kill two birds with one stone for this weeks sketch as I needed to make a birthday card for mom, who’s birthday it is today!! Happy Birthday Mom!!!

For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

20160422_180918_marked

I then took a piece of the Shimmery White Cardstock, which I am obsessed with for water colouring, cut to 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I stamped in Versamark Ink some of the images from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. Using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink I water coloured over my stamped images to create a background piece. I then adhered this to a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper cut to 4 inches x 5 6/8 inches.

20160422_181001_marked

Taking some A4 Vellum Cardstock I stamped some different flower images from the stamp set in Versamrk Ink and heat embossed. I punched these out with the Pansy Flower Punch, which is available in a bundle saving 15%.

20160422_180929_marked

Taking some more vellum cardstock I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Versamark and heat embossed again. I cut this in to a banner edged piece ready to attach to my card front.

20160422_180941_marked

Using some of the gorgeous 1″ Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace trim I wrapped a piece vertically around my card front and then tied a Faux bow using a technique I found on Pinterest and my Candy Dots Brad Bases with some Basic Rhinestone Jewels. I then adhered my card front to my card base using Stampin Dimensionals. My last touch was attaching my vellum sentiment piece with three 1/8″ Mini Brads. With some Mini Glue Dots I adhered my punched out Pansy flowers.

I made a second card of this design. The water colouring came up a little more pigmented and I used the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon for my bow.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #7 Botanicals For You Mother’s Day Shaker Card

So this is week 7 in our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Hannah from StampingwithHannah.com!

So for today’s sketch….

Today’s sketch caused a stir I can tell you, the ladies in the group were all saying “What???” but I knew straight away this sketch only meant one thing, Shaker card!!!! I also knew what stamp set I was going to use, the Botanicals For You Stamp Set from the Sale-a-Bration catalogueyou still have one month left to take advantage of the Sale-a-Bration promotion. I have gone in to more detail about the Sale-a-Bration promotion at the end of this post if you need to know more about how to bag these bargains.

For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

20160226_204005_marked

I took a piece of Window Sheet cut to 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches and stamped the sentiment from the Botanicals For You Stamp Set in White Stazon Ink.

20160226_204016_marked

While I waited for that to dry I took a piece of the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper cut to 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches and sponged on some Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink  on to the larger rose images on the paper.

20160226_204057_marked

I adhered my DSP to my card base. Taking another piece of Watermelon Wonder cardstock cut again at 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches I die cut out a frame with my Bigshot and the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits using the partial die cutting technique to get the right size of frame. I then adhered my window sheet piece using some Fast Fuse Adhesive. I popped on some Stampin Dimensionals all around my frame with no spaces so my sequins would not fall out.

20160226_204016_marked

I then placed some Sequins on my card front and popped on my frame. Using some more white stazon ink I used the small floral images from the stamp set in the corners of my frame and finally added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen to finish. I then used the Project Life Corner Punch to round off my corners.

20160226_204047_marked

I stamped another sentiment inside my card with white Stazon ink and another floral image and that finishes my card for this week’s sketch challenge.

Thanks for hopping by today, don’t forget to subscribe to my blog for more inspiration or go check me out on Facebook or Instagram, and don’t forget to go and grab those Sale-a-Bration items before they are gone for good!Louise xx
