Pootler’s New Catalogue Blog Hop Summer 2016

Welcome to another Pootler’s Team Blog Hop!! This blog hop is all about the yumminess that is the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue. I can not believe how quick the year has gone, yes we saw some of our favourites retired but I have to say I LOVE the products in this catalogue…..do I have a wish list?…..no I just want it all! Anyway my project focuses on my favourite stamp set.

I know it is ADORABLE!! We spotted the Love You Lots Stamp Set when we were given a sneak peek at the new catalogue back in April at On Stage Live. Thankfully it was available in the pre-order (two excellent reasons to become a SU Demonstrator right there), so I snapped it up and couldn’t wait to make these cards with it.

So taking four pieces of A4 Whisper White Shimmery Cardstock (3 3/4 inches x 5 7/8 inches) I stamped all four of the adorable images in the stamp set in Archival Basic Black Ink. I then did some very simple and quick water colouring using Smoky Slate, Cucumber Crush, Real Red, Tip Top Taupe and Marina Mist Classic Inks. Whilst this dried I made my card bases from Real Red, Cucumber Crush, Basic Grey and Tip Top Taupe A4 Cardstock (cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches).

Before adhering my card front I cut a strip ( 1 1/2 inches x 5 7/8 inches) of co-ordinating DSP from the Designer Series Paper Stacks (In Colours 2015-2017, Neutrals and Brights Collections). I adhered this to my card base with some Fast Fuse Adhesive and popped up my card front on some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

20160617_205542

To finish off my cards I took another strip of matching cardstock (1 inch x 3 inches) and heat embossed each of the sentiments in White Stampin Emboss Powder and adhered these to my cards. I stamped the little thought bubble sentiment on my little frog card along with drawing a couple of mini red hearts with my Real Red Stampin Write Marker.

P1010826_marked

For my card bases I used Crumb Cake A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

Then taking the gorgeous Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, and you don’t realise how gorgeous this paper is until you open it! I cut four strips, two from the Melon Mambo/Blushing Bride colour, and one of each of the Crushed Curry/Daffodil Delight, Soft/Tempting Turquoise, measuring 3 x 5 5/8 inches.

I adhered these to my card fronts and then with some more Crumb Cake cardstock I stamped my sentiment from the Sky is the Limit stamp set, and like the DSP this is only available for two more days and would be perfect for Father’s Day cards!!, in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my heat tool.

As I can’t resist using my Prismacolour pencils on Crumb Cake Cardstock I coloured in the trailing smoky heart image that I lined up under my sentiment using my Stamp-a-mi-jig in matching colours. I then punched these out with the 2″ inch Circle Punch.

I did add in a Happy Birthday sentiment for our Birthday girl! To finish my cards off I adhered my sentiment pieces on to some 2 3/8″ Scalloped Circle punch outs from the Perfectly Artistic DSP.

To add a bit of interest behind my sentiment pieces I made some “Pootle Loops” with some of the White 1 1/4 Jute Ribbon and popped my sentiments up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. To round the cards off I punched out three hearts, it is Valentine’s weekend, with my heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and popped these up and added some Basic Pearl Jewels.

Pootlers Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop Stampin Up Flowering Fields Card

bog hop-001

Welcome to another Pootler’s Blog Hop. Today’s hop is all about showcasing some of the stunning products that are available FREE, yes I said FREE, as part of Stampin’ Up’s annual Sale-a-Bration. I have gone in to more detail at the end of the post so don’t forget to stay until the end to see how you can qualify for some of these gorgeous products. So you may have joined me from our lovely Pootles…I mean Sam or if you working backwards Camille. All my fellow Pootler’s have produced some fab pieces to show you what you can do with all the freebies on offer!

P1010796_marked

So for me today I couldn’t wait to make these cards. As soon as I saw the Flowering Fields Stamp Set in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue I knew what my first card would be, but when it came to making it I couldn’t decide to go very simple with just one flower or add a few of the flowers as I really wanted to showcase how stunning they are, so as indecisive as I am I plumbed for both!

For my card bases I used Crumb Cake A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches. I cut a card front for each card again from Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. On my card fronts using Versamark Ink and my Stamp-a-ma-Jig I stamped my flower images. I then heat embossed these with some White Stampin Embossing Powder.

Once embossed I coloured my flowers with my Prismacolour pencils but you can use any pencils you have to hand, the images are tiny so any amount of colour along with the white embossing powder will pop! When my card fronts were finished I wrapped some Silver Bakers Twine around them and popped these up on my card front with some Stampin Dimensionals.

These cards were very simple and quick to make, I have decided I am going to make some notelet sets for gifts for mother’s day! The possibilities with this stamp set are endless so stay tuned!!

Anyway next you will be hopping along to the lovely Camille or hopping back to our Sam, enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by today, Louise xx

I was so excited to get my copy of the new 2016 Occasions catalogue, but I was even more excited when I saw the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set I love it and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! The new 2016 Occasions Catalogue starts 2nd January and then you will also be able to get your hands on all these lovely goodies! Not forgetting from 5th January (excitingly jumps around) Sale’a’Bration starts!!

P1010775_marked

For my card base I used a piece of Whisper White A4 Thick Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches. Using some of the gorgeous Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack I cut two strips measuring 1 1/2 inches x 5 7/8 inches. I adhered the Crushed Curry piece to my card front using Snail Adhesive. With the Bermuda Bay piece of DSP I did some partial die cutting with the tea cup die from the matching Cups and Kettle Framelits Die Set (which is available as a bundle saving 15%…….Amazing!!!). I then adhered this to my card front also.

I stamped the main image from the stamp set on to some Whisper White A4 Cardstock with some Melon Mambo Classic Ink. I did some “fussy cutting” and popped this up on some Stampin Dimensionals onto my card front.

To finish off the front of my card I stamped the “Steaming” Heart image above my teacups in Melon Mambo ink using the stamping off technique to go along with our theme for this blog hop of “One die or punch, One Stamp Set, One DSP and One Ink”. I also had to add some of the New Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush Pen to my stamped hearts. To top it all off I added some of the It’s My Party Enamel Dots.

P1010776_marked

For the inside of my card I stamped a sentiment and a cute little heart, in some Melon Mambo ink, from the stamp set.

Well that’s my card for this extra special blog hop with our International friends.

Thanks for hopping by, Louise xx

Pootlers Blog Hop

Pootlers Blog Hop-001Today I am thrilled to be taking part in another brilliant Pootler’s Blog Hop. My fellow Pootler’s and I have put together a series of projects showcasing some of the gorgeous new products from the new Annual Catalogue that was released earlier this month.

You Got This Watercolour Card

You Got This Watercolour Card

For today’s card I am using the new You’ve Got This Stamp Set, taking the main flower image I stamped it with Versamark ink on some Watercolour Cardstock measuring 5 1/2 inches x 3 5/8 inches. I heat embossed this with some Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool.  Taking an Aqua Painter I wet my piece of embossed watercolour cardstock and then taking some of the New Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink I just dropped ink on and around the flower petals allowing the water to carry the ink. I repeated this step with some of the gorgeous Mint Macaron Classic Ink around the stem of the flower again allowing the water to carry the ink outwards.

Watercolour effect

Watercolour effect

Once this was dry I used lots of Fast Fuse to adhere it to my card base which consisted of a piece of A4 Mint Macaron Cardstock (yes, I am ever so slightly obsessed with this colour) cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.  To edge my watercolour piece I took a piece of Tip Top Taupe Cardstock measuring 1 inch x 5 1/2 inches and adhered a piece of the lovely English Garden Designer Series Paper measuring 3/4 inch x 5 1/2 inches and popped this up on the edge of my card front with some Stampin Dimensionals.

English Garden DSP

English Garden DSP

Then to finish off I stamped one of the lovely sentiments from the stamp set on to some Whisper White Cardstock with some (yes, you guessed it) Mint Macaron Classic Ink. I punched this out with my 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch, I sponged the edges with the matching ink. To the back of my sentiment piece I decided to add some “Pootle Loops”, well it wouldn’t be a Pootler’s Blog Hop without them! So taking some of the White Jute Ribbon I threaded a couple of lengths of cotton off a strip of ribbon (a lovely demonstrator shared this trick with us at Regional Training this May) and curled this round the back of my sentiment piece adhering it with some Glue Dots. I then adhered this with some more Stampin Dimensionals to my card front.

Stampin Up Painted Petals Cards Stamped with Embossing Folder

We are now on the big countdown down to the new catalogue launch 2105-2016…..

Which also means that time is rapidly running out to snatch up the remaining items on the retiring list which you can find HERE! But it also means saying goodbye to some of the gorgeous items from the Spring and Summer catalogue that have not carried over to the annual catalogue, these will not be available after 2 June 2015 😦

Painted Petals Cards

Painted Petals Cards

So with that it mind I am dedicating the next few days to products from the Spring and Summer catalogue or the retiring list in the run up to the new catalogue launch.  Saying that, the biggest surprise for me was that the Painted Petals Stamp Set and co-ordinating products have not carried over in to the new annual catalogue. So for my first post I have focused on these products for my cards.

To begin with I made my card bases, I took 4 pieces of A4 Cardstock and cut them in half at 4 1/8 inches and 5 7/8 inches in Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Pacific Point and Blackberry Bliss, and scored the Rose Red and Blackberry Bliss cards at 4 1/8 inches and the Pacific Point cards at 5 7/8 inches.

To make my embossed background pieces I took 4 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. Grabbing my Spring Flowers Textured Embossing Folder (which is currently on the Weekly Deals) and my BigShot I decided to create two different types of background. For my first two pieces I inked the embossing folder, inking up the raised area of my embossing folder, with Rose Red Classic Ink and Pacific Point Classic Ink and ran these through my BigShot embossing and inking the pattern on to my piece of Whisper White.

I decided to do my other two backgrounds slightly different. I inked up my embossing folder in the same way with Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink and Wild Wasabi Classic Ink, but did not run the embossing folder through my BigShot. Instead I applied lots of pressure to my closed folder sandwiching my piece of Whisper White and the ink together. Being very careful opening my embossing folder I now have a stamped background effect, which is really very pretty! I adhered my four backgrounds on to their matching card bases with some Fast Fuse.

For each of my cards using the Painted Petals Stamp Set and co-ordniating ink colours I stamped one of the flower designs and one of the leaf designs, with Wild Wasabi Ink, using my Stamp-a-ma-Jig on to some more Whisper White cardstock. I trimmed this piece down to 3 inches x 2 3/4 inches and taking some matching Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper cut this half an inch bigger than my stamped piece, 3 1/2 inches x 3 1/4 inches. I popped these together and onto my card fron with some Stampin Dimensionals. I also stamped a sentiment from the stamp set for each card in co-ordinating colours and punched these out using the Scalloped Oval Punch, 1 1/4 Inch Scalloped Circle Punch and the Decorative Label Punch.

I popped these up onto matching punched out shapes in matching card stock colours and for the Pacific Point and Blackberry Bliss cards I added some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper also punched out. For the Rose Red card I used some of the Champagne Glimmer Paper which is also retiring!! I popped all these on with some Stampin Dimensionals. For my final touch I used some Basic Pearl Jewels for the flowers and on the sentiement pieces.

I think surprisingly, although I love Blackberry Bliss and all the Blue colours, my favourite is the Wild Wasabi card! And I am not a fan of green! So let me know in the comments below which is your favourite and I hope I have inspired you to try out something different with your embossing folders and to also get in your last minute orders before the 2 June!!

Be quick and pop over to my Shop HERE!!!

Thanks for stopping by today xx
