So this is sketch number 9 of our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Karen McDondald!
So for today’s sketch….
I decided to kill two birds with one stone for this weeks sketch as I needed to make a birthday card for mom, who’s birthday it is today!! Happy Birthday Mom!!!
For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.
I then took a piece of the Shimmery White Cardstock, which I am obsessed with for water colouring, cut to 3 7/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I stamped in Versamark Ink some of the images from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and heat embossed with White Stampin Emboss Powder. Using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink I water coloured over my stamped images to create a background piece. I then adhered this to a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper cut to 4 inches x 5 6/8 inches.
Taking some A4 Vellum Cardstock I stamped some different flower images from the stamp set in Versamrk Ink and heat embossed. I punched these out with the Pansy Flower Punch, which is available in a bundle saving 15%.
Taking some more vellum cardstock I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Versamark and heat embossed again. I cut this in to a banner edged piece ready to attach to my card front.
Using some of the gorgeous 1″ Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace trim I wrapped a piece vertically around my card front and then tied a Faux bow using a technique I found on Pinterest and my Candy Dots Brad Bases with some Basic Rhinestone Jewels. I then adhered my card front to my card base using Stampin Dimensionals. My last touch was attaching my vellum sentiment piece with three 1/8″ Mini Brads. With some Mini Glue Dots I adhered my punched out Pansy flowers.
I made a second card of this design. The water colouring came up a little more pigmented and I used the Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon for my bow.
