Saturday Sketch Day Stampin’ Up Baby Bumblebee Card

For Saturdays posts I have decided to use this as an opportunity to take part in some sketch and card challenges.  I have always wanted to take part in challenges but have never got around to it so I am hoping this will encourage me to do so, whether it is a sketch challenge or a theme challenge I think it is a good way to keep the inspiration flowing.

This week I have taken part in the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

FMS Final 176-001For my entry I used the Little Baby Bumblebee Stamp from the Spring and Summer Catalogue and created a new baby card.  I love bumblebee’s and this one is so cute!

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the baby bumblebee image in Memento Ink  and coloured the little cutie in.  I then die cut my coloured piece with one of the Framelits Circles Collection.

I took a piece of the Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper measuring 9 inches x 2 1/2 inches (6.4cm x 22.8cm) and my 1 inch Circle Punch and lined it up so it only punches a semi circle shape out of the edge of the DSP to create a border along the bottom edge.

I then adhered this to my card base, a piece of Hello Honey A4 Cardstock cut to 7 inches x 9 inches (17.8cm x 22.8cm).  I then took some Hello Honey Quilted Cotton Ribbon and wrapped this around the top of my card tying a knot.  I adhered my coloured piece with some Stampin Dimensionals to the right of my card.  I then took 3 of the Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons and tied some bows with some Lined Thread and adhered them to the bottom left side of my card front with some Mini Glue Dots.

For the inside I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock 8 1/2 inches x 3 inches (21.5cm x 7.6cm) and stamped a sentiment from the B.Y.O.P Stamp Set in Hello Honey Classic Ink and popped this on the inside of my card.

With my leftover cardstock that was cut from the A4 piece of cardstock I made a matching gift tag.  The piece of cardstock measures 3 inches x 2 1/2 inches (7.6cm x 6.4cm) and a piece of the Sweet Dreams DSP measuring 2 1/2 inches x 2 inches (6.4cm x 5cm).  When I stamped my image for my main card I stamped 2 images and coloured both so I popped the second image on to my tag and embellished this with some Brights Candy Dots.  I also used some Hello Honey Ribbon to finish my matching tag.

So that’s my first entry into a sketch challenge hope this inspires you to have a go!

Thanks for dropping by today, Louise xx
