Well I said I liked to get inky and I chose to focus on one of the colours in the Best Day Ever Designer series paper, Calypso Coral, and yes I got into a mess but that is what crafting is all about and I love messy especially when you can produce something that you love at the end of it all!!
The Best Day Ever stamp set and the Best Year Ever Designer series paper is the Sale-a-Bration product of the week so I took the challenge of using those products to demonstrate how these “Free” products can produce beautiful things, and yes you heard me “Free”. Both the stamp set and designer series paper are part of the SAB promotion where you can choose a “Free” product from the SAB catalogue for every £45 you spend on Stampin’ Up products, Bargain!!
So I took some Calypso Coral Classic Ink and A4 Cardstock, which I cut in half (length ways) and scored it to make a top folding portrait card base. I then used two of the smaller image stamps to build my background using tone on tone stamping with the Calypso Coral ink. There are several little images in this stamp set that you can use to build up loads of gorgeous backgrounds! I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock 2 inches x 4.5 inches (5cm x 11.4cm) and used my ornate tag topper punch to create my tag and focal piece on which I stamped my sentiment and added some, yes you guessed it, Calypso Coral ribbon from the Best Year Ever embellishment kit and yes this is also “Free” as part of the SAB promotion!!
I used some Whisper White and Calypso coral cardstock and the Petite Petals punch to create some flower embellishments to which I sponged the edges (love sponging lol, I literally want to sponge everything!) and added some Pearl Basic Jewels. I popped all this onto my stamped card base with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and the final piece I added a trio of Pearls on my tag and its all done and I was very inky (orange fingers!).
The inside was simple just a piece of Whisper White card stock 1/8 inch smaller on all sides than my card base and a couple of strips of the Best Year Ever designer series paper and a couple of the left over petite petal flowers that I had left over.
