Well I am loving my first few weeks as a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator!! I have to say it has given me a real push to put time aside for myself to craft and I find it so relaxing and motivating.
So this project is not only an excuse to play with the new and ever so cute You Brighten My Day stamp set, which by the way is one of the stamp sets that you can earn for FREE with the Sale-a-Bration promotion when you spend £45 at Stampin’ Up, but I also need a new home card for my sister-in-law who is due to move in to her new house this week.
I wasted no time in using the adorable little house stamp from the set, I think it is so cute, it was one of the images that caught my eye and put the set on my ever growing wish list and the fact that it is FREE as part of the SAB promotion just made it fate that I should own this set, that is what I told myself anyway!
I wanted to use some nice bright colours so I pulled out the Brights Collection and decided on using Melon Mambo Classic Ink and Cardstock and teaming it with some Daffodil Delight Classic Ink. I used the stamping off technique, stamping once on a scrap piece of paper first before stamping on my project, with the Daffodil Delight ink and stamping the house stamp 3 time in a line across my first piece of Whisper White cardstock (3 3/4 inch x 5 1/4 inch). Then stamped off twice on my piece of paper before stamping 2 more house images between the already stamped houses, this lighter image hopefully adds a little interest and perspective to the images.
I then stamped 3 house images on another piece of Whisper White cardstock in Melon Mambo Classic Ink and cut these out. Using 1 Stampin dimensionals on 2 of the houses and placing them on my stamped piece and then popping 2 Stampin’ Up dimensionals on my last house image and popping it up between the 2 houses already on the stamped piece.
Then using a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock (11 inches x 4 inches) scored and folded at 5 1/2 inches I adhered the stamped piece to the this with snail adhesive. I then took a small strip of Melon Mambo cardstock and created a flagged banner for my sentiment which I popped up with some Stampin dimensionals.
I used another piece of Whisper White cardstock for the inside and cut some roof shapes (triangles but I used my imagination lol) out of the bottom and adhered this with some snail adhesive for my message and sentiment.
I then cracked open my envelope punch board (which is on offer in Weekly Deals until 14th Jan 2015) and decided to make an envelope for my cute little card using a piece of patterned paper cut to 7 7/8 inches x 7 7/8 inches and scored and 3 3/8 inches which creates an envelope perfect for my cute little card.
I hope you like this card as much as I enjoyed creating it!!
